In GeneralEdit

WAN's, or wide area networks, usually refers to the internet in general. Often you may hear an IT tech say "I can ping the gateway, but I have no access to the WAN".. This means the internal network is fine but the external network - the WAN- has issues to be address. Most common fixes to these have to do with power cycling the internet provider's modem or rechecking cable connections between the router and modem. Other implementations include a company inTRAnet or a network that covers a large geographic area that uses leased lines from a telecommunications provider.
